How I've used to loathe Steel types. When they introduced something which has 12 resistances, it felt somewhat natural to flip over the dinner table (with dinner on top) and yell random strings of vowels to exhaust my frustration. In reality, I just shouted stuff at the game screen. But the conflict was of equal size, and the rage had just begun to churn.
Although, in Gen 2, the only place where Steel types mattered was at the gym, so the rest of the game was as a whole pretty oblivious to their existence. I, on the other hand, decided to forget about them on purpose. Steel types felt cheap, and I was inclined to deal with more expensive brands of types instead of the metalware.
Time went. Pokémon became more versatile in their movesets. I begun to see all the flaws Steel types had to carry, and thus, knew how to abuse them. The issue about the dozen resistances is still a thorn in the side, but I've now grown used to it, and adapted accordingly. And pick my own favorites out of that rugged class, where Steelix just so happens to do. Because even though I used to hate Steel types, Steelix was simply way too cool. Not to mention how Onix was so desperately in need of an improvement.

Steelix is my favorite pokémon of them all. I've always liked steel pokémon, but I can completely understand why you'd think of them as ''cheap''. Very well done!
you truly make a very steel like pokemon!(your way of drawing steel is just amazing!)
and well, I don't know, I haven't really feel anything about the steel type, more because I'm a all type person who need to get at least one pokemon at every single type to make my group balance. cause really, when it comes down to battle, even the hardest thing may be able to get beat down by steel.
This is a great representation of Steelix. I never really like Steel types either, although that's because I always fell victim to their weaknesses when I trained them. Yeah, want to use Steelix's rock moves on Dragonite? Too bad it knows Hydro Pump, Earthquake, and Fire Punch. You're out of luck if you want to use Steelix in any sort of real battles.
I must admit I really do enjoy Steelix. They're available in the wild in D/P/Pt, they have an awesome cry, and their defense stat exceeded even Registeel. If only they were available without trading in other games.
Please never stop doing those, i love em :]
Very well done!
